The tablet is inspired by the famous "miraculous fresco" of the Annunciation executed in the mid-fourteenth century for the church of the Santissima Annunziata in Florence. This peculiar iconography made famous by the copy that Alessandro or Cristofano Allori made at the end of the sixteenth century, was then replicated in the following centuries in numerous copies.
The author of the tablet presented here shows that he wants to approach more to the fresco than to the reproduction of Allori, both in the ways and in the spatial representation.
