Portrait of young Augustus III of Poland, German painter, 18th century

oil painting on canvas
81 x 61.5 cm
The painting, probably dating back to the 15-20s of the eighteenth century, represents Augustus III of Poland, known as the Saxon or the Corpulent.
There are no repaintings. The canvas, probably cut in the lower part (The Order of the White Eagle is only half visible), has several spots with color drops, especially at the lateral edges. The slight imprint of the frame is also noticeable.
